The Endangered green turtle Chelonia mydas nests on Prickly Pear Cays and Dog Island, while the Critically Endangered hawksbill turtle Eretmochelys imbricata nests on Prickly Pear Cays, Dog Island and the main island of Anguilla. The leatherback turtle Dermochelys coriacea is also known to nest on the main island and on Scrub Island. View the video of leatherback turtles hatching here.
